Parham Aircraft Museum

One of our latest thermal heat insulation projects - preventing heat loss from an aircraft museum!

The aircraft museum was a 1.98 uvalue thermal heat loss.

After fitting our insulation system the uvalue is reduced to 0.48.

Previously they were using four dehumidifiers which filled up the water tanks once every week. Now they only have one - and that one still hasn't filled the water tank three months after project completion!

We undertook a complete renovation of external wall insulation - using an
anti crack resistant polymer, fibres and acrylic render system.

The Aircraft Museum is in Parham Woodbridge in Suffolk.

Parham keep old aircraft sections and parts from aircraft from the second world war.

The parts were getting corroded and rusty and it was cold inside the property due to being a solid wall construction..

We fitted external wall insulation and reduced the u value which is thermal heat loss from 1.98 down to 0.50 which makes the thermal heat loss reduced down to equal a new cavity wall insulation.

Therefore we reduced the heat loss by at least 40%- and carbon omissions by 45%.

Staff at Parham used 4 dehumidifiers to control the damp moisture in the air, which were emptied of water twice a week. Now our system has been fitted they only use one dehumidifier which has not been emptied yet after eight weeks.

They are extremely pleased we have preserved their irreplaceable aircraft parts in the museum.
